A Little Off The Top

While I am home, I have been trying to keep myself busy with a Honey Do List for myself. I get tired of sifting through all the employment ads only to discover that, once again, there are no new listings for a superior talent such as myself. If I could find a job based solely on my modesty, I am sure I would have to fight off the offers. hehe But I digress.

So, back to that Honey Do List for myself. I decided to tackle the bushes in the front of the house. I picked a day when the temps were LOWER than 97. That’s not been an easy task for the last few months in Atlanta. Despite the LOWER than 97 temp, I was still sweating like a pig (with nice earrings, at least). My clothes were drenched. No one took a picture of me working like a prison laborer, but I took pictures of my victims.

The best part about this whole job is this:

This stuff is NEVER coming back. I witnessed the trash guys shove this stuff into the back of the truck just moments ago. I just needed to be sure.

As I said earlier, there are no pictures of me hacking away at the pictures. However, I do have a picture of this.

You’re welcome.

Been doing any pre-Fall yard work lately? Are your temps anywhere near Fall weather? Do you enjoy trash days as much as I do?

Oh yes, thank you for that Depp fix.

That was an amazingly daunting task you undertook! I would have had to watch it all being hauled away too!

Our temperatures in Missouri have been awesome. High 70's during the day and 50's at night. Wish I could share.

Wow! I am impressed. That was a huge job.
Love the past picture too!

Um, I like the shrub pictures better than the skinny, slimeball there at the end. ;)

When I saw the J Man, I forgot all about your post!

Ahhhh...yes.. I could be a "cougar" sooo easy! *sigh*

Now..where was I. Oh yes. Well, today, or rather tonight just before it got dark, I had this sudden urge to cut things down...so out I went and now there is pile of stuff at both ends of the back yard to clean up. What fun! Problem is that tomorrow morning I have to haul it all and stuff it into the GREEN trash bin. I sprayed for ants first...thank heavens...and yes, I am still battling the little jerks!
I won't go into that, but I didn't get any on me this time so I thinking I might be making a bit of headway. The ant war rages on at our house.
I shall not be deterred!!

That's about it. Still working on the Fall decor (YOU need to get going)...but..I am thinking it is half way through Sept...so I might as well bring out the big guns and add the witches. What do you think?
I LOVE trash days! It got up to 93today. I can stand that...but...that's enough.

He just KEEPS looking at me with those eyes. I think he wants me!!! I mean I AM a rather cute 73 year old! Whats a few wrinkles! Dream on? OK!!

Wait!! Who's a skinny slim ball!! LOL (I LOVE it when people call me skinny!) Not so sure about the slim ball. What's that??? LOL

I would love to hack out my entire backyard. I hate it. It's ugly. I hate touching that stuff though-makes me itch. You are braver than I am. I am always trying to plant stuff, but the dirt is crap so not much grows. Perhaps I should get out there and pull it all out-it's not 97 here. I am just a wimp.

I hate shrubs--so demanding with the pruning! I have to pull weeds--actually have to tarp over one bed that is SO bad...

mary

Well you really let those shrubs have it!
I'm impressed that the garbage dudes took away all your bags. Around here, they only take what is in the cans. And that is with the lid closed.

My yard needs so much help. Hmmm, Johnny would make a real handsome landscaper....

OH my, yes!!!! Thank YOU!

Our temps are much better lately. Not quite 70 yet today. Might get into the high 80's middle of the week.
Our yard was so yucky this hot dry summer that there wasn't much growth so really nothing to cut back. The garden did well but hubby will just clean it out a little bit and turn it over at some point. Easy breezy.
